William T. Long, M.D., founder of the Computer Surgery Institute is a world leader in the use of computers to improve hip and knee replacement surgery. The mission of CSI is to allow patients to enjoy unlimited activities on a joint replacement that will last a lifetime.

CSI is a private practice that specializes in the surgical care of patients with arthritis. More than 20 years ago an exceptional group of surgeons, anesthesiologist and internal medicine physicians shared a belief that great outcomes following hip and knee replacement require an organized team approach.

Dr. Long performed the first computer assisted surgery (CAS) in 2005 and the first robot-assisted partial knee replacement in 2008. Our team has performed more computer-assisted revision hip and knee replacement operations than any private practice in the U.S. The results of this experience have convinced Dr. Long that joint replacement is safer and more precise using computer and robot technology.

CSI physicians have published medical research on topics including minimally invasive surgery, rapid recovery anesthesia and treatments to prevent blood clots. Our physicians and staff have performed charitable work in the U.S. and abroad.

Our patients receive competent and compassionate care from a team of experts who have made this field of medicine their professional life's work. We appreciate all of our patients and are honored to care for those who trust CSI for their joint replacement needs.
Welcome to the Computer Surgery Institute.
