William T. Long, M.D. was inspired to found the Computer Surgery Institute in 2005.

The first time the hip replacement team watched the computer monitor as the cup was placed precisely into the socket, Dr. Long was convinced that the future of joint replacement would be enhanced by live virtual images. Dr. Long introduced Robotic-Assisted Surgery to Southern California in 2008. Today CSI has the most experienced surgical team combined with the world’s most advanced surgical technology CORI.

Medical science allows superior surgical precision and accuracy. The art of medicine allows the surgical team to assist each patient as they strive to return to the activities that they love. The Rapid Recovery Program allows patients to minimize or completely avoid unnecessary hospital stay. Patients can recover quickly and safely from the comfort of home.

The mission of CSI is to improve joint replacement surgery so that one day patients can enjoy unlimited activities on a joint replacement that will last a lifetime.
